Nancy Kline Workshop in Durban PDF Print E-mail

Recent Event in Durbs!

The Coaching Centre and Metaphase hosted a Nancy Kline workshop in Durban.

The Coaching Centre with partners Metaphase (Cathy Yuill & Mariane Vorster) hosted a very successful workshop facilitated by Nancy Kline last week in Durban.

We were delighted to have Nancy Kline come to Durban for the first time on March 28th to address a group of 120 people representing Business, Educastion and the KwazuluNatal coaching community.

Nancy Kline spoke to 120 past and present TCC students and coaching clients in Durban on the 28th March.  Nancy reminded us of the value of truly listening to another human being and providing the space for people to think.   It sounds so easy and obvious and yet when put to the test, we all still "slip in the banana peel" as John says.  To hear the philosophies in Nancy's book described by her in person with her own personal stories to underpin and add colour was a privilege. But more than that, it was so special to  experience Nancy  in person so authentically embodying her work and values. A true coach.

As coaches as are judged by how we are all the time, not only when we are in coaching mode.

Congrats, Mariane & Cathy - continue building the coaching community!

Cape Town Certificate in Coaching Skills Graduates

We are always so moved by the capacity of the human being to step into the challenges for growth and taking on new learning.

The recent graduation of our certificate coaches in Cape Town, who now have within them, an understanding of what coaching is, and what ‘being' a coach entails, was a testimony to this great spirit of setting an intention towards excellence.

The quality of people in the room speaks of what coaching is and how we are establishing coaching as a profession of substance in this country and even globally.  It is with appreciation that John and I facilitated this marker of this journey- through this graduation ceremony; appreciation for the determination of this group of people to take on new skills and a new knowledge of themselves, others and the systems in which they work.  There was a sense of great satisfaction in the room - this group had moved through a passage of deep initiation into the complex and wonderfully stimulating and rewarding world of coaching.

Every one of the group has experienced some life changing process within themselves and in the way they are facilitating learning, meaning, and growth for others in the organizations in which they are working and in their relationships. If coaching is about bringing high level awareness to how we are in the world and how impact and influence the world, and thus taking that awareness into the lives of work and living for others; then we had a living testament to this in the room.  A high percentage of this group are continuing this journey through our diploma course - the few who are not - will be on the next programme.   Again the dedication to learning - to building consciousness - to find a different, a better, more productive and meaningful way of working with people in their business and daily lives, is a huge motivator for this group as they take coaching into the world.

We - the faculty - are loving our own learning and being witness to this living into possibility! Paddy Paisley
